The Freedom Festival in Offenburg, Germany concluded successfully over two days. Yet, the Salmen Museum chose to retain the “Lady Liberty of Hong Kong” for continued display, sharing Hong Kong’s story with many more. Its presence in the Salmen Museum holds significant meaning for Hongkongers. On this day, 175 years ago, on 12.09.1847, at the very place where Lady Liberty now stands, the “13 Demands of the People of Baden” were adopted, laying down the cornerstone for Germany’s democratic freedoms.
